WASHUK, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has said a 28-year-old man, Shukrullah Baloch, was forcibly disappeared and later extrajudicially killed by the Frontier Corps (FC) in the Paatk area of Washuk, Balochistan.
According to the BYC, Shukrullah, son of Abdul Nabi and a resident of Kappar, Washuk, was taken by Pakistani army personnel on September 7, 2026, from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road at Paatk.
The organization said he was held for ten days and killed on September 17. His body, bearing visible signs of torture, was found by the CPEC roadside in Paatk.
The BYC said that he was an ordinary young man who worked to earn a living and support his family’s daily expenses. It said the family endured severe mental distress during his ten days of detention, with his mother, sisters and brothers waiting for his safe return before learning of his death.
The committee appealed to international human rights organizations to ensure the safety of ordinary people in Balochistan. It said enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of civilians were increasing day by day.
The BYC also urged Human Rights Watch, the United Nations, Amnesty International and the European Union to hold the Pakistani government accountable. It called on independent journalists and rights groups to closely monitor such cases.
