BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for 18 armed operations across Balochistan between May 4 and May 14, 2026, stating that 31 Pakistani security personnel were killed, including a Major-ranking officer, while several others were seriously wounded. The group also claims to have seized control of key highways for extended periods during the operations. Pakistani authorities have not independently confirmed these figures.
According to the BLA statement, the operations included seven IED attacks, ambushes, sniper strikes, grenade attacks, and highway checkpoint seizures across multiple districts. The group also claims its fighters seized control of main highways at several locations, targeting vehicles linked to what it describes as “exploitative companies” and detaining individuals associated with such projects.
The BLA acknowledged losing five of its own fighters during the operations.
BLA fighters targeted a vehicle carrying supplies for Pakistani security forces in Zamuran’s Jonki area with an explosive device, destroying it before setting it ablaze. The group claims that during interrogation, Majid Badini confessed to working as an informant for the military and facilitating Death Squad operations. Ali Ahmad son of Noor Ahmad confessed to working for three years within a network called “Molo,” operating undercover as a shopkeeper to monitor BLA movements and facilitate military operations. The BLA claims Ali Ahmad was working under the direct supervision of Colonel Ahsan and had been tasked with planting a tracking chip. The group further claims he was involved in facilitating raids on Baloch homes and enforced disappearances of young men.
The BLA states that its “Baloch National Court” sentenced Ali Ahmad to death for what it described as grave crimes against the Baloch nation, and that the sentence was carried out.
