Sit-In Outside Bolan Medical Complex Enters 16th Day as Family, Protesters Demand Khadija Baloch’s Release

Khadija baloch protest

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The protest camp outside Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) in Quetta showed no signs of ending Thursday as demonstrators marked the 16th consecutive day of their sit-in, maintaining their peaceful vigil and renewing demands for the immediate and safe release of detained Baloch woman Khadija Baloch.

Protest Continues With Undiminished Resolve

What began 16 days ago as a desperate cry for justice has grown into a sustained and unwavering demonstration of resilience. Protesters and family members have remained stationed outside Bolan Medical Complex through day and night, refusing to disperse until Khadija Baloch is released and returned safely to her family.

Despite 16 days of continuous peaceful protest, authorities have yet to provide any meaningful response or indicate any progress toward resolving the case, sources close to the demonstrators confirmed.

A Daughter Waiting on the Road

The most haunting image of this ongoing protest remains that of Khadija Baloch’s young daughter a little child who continues to sit by the roadside, day after day, waiting for her mother to come home.

The daughter of Khadija Baloch continues to protest for her mother.

Her parents, meanwhile, remain gripped by a painful combination of fear, grief and fragile hope hoping each passing day will be the day they see their daughter again. Those close to the family say the prolonged detention has caused deep psychological trauma not only to Khadija’s immediate family but to all those who have stood with them through these 16 long days.

“Her Only Crime Is Being Baloch”

Protesters and supporters have been consistent in their message throughout the 16 days of demonstration. Khadija Baloch, they say, is a young woman whose only crime is her identity.

“Silence is no longer a solution,” demonstrators have repeatedly stated. “When identity itself becomes a crime, resistance becomes a duty.”

The sit-in has drawn growing attention from human rights advocates and the broader public, with supporters arguing that Khadija’s case is not an isolated incident but part of a wider pattern of targeting Baloch individuals particularly women for their identity and political associations.
