BYC Holds Seminar in Surab and Awareness Campaign in Quetta Highlighting Detention of Leaders

QUETTA: As part of a month-long awareness campaign, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized seminars and public outreach programs in Surab, Quetta and surrounding areas to highlight the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan and the unlawful detention of its leadership.

In Surab, the seminar focused on creating an open dialogue about the increasing restrictions on peaceful political expression and the systemic repression faced by communities across Balochistan. Speakers emphasized how legal and administrative mechanisms are being used to marginalize dissenting voices, while families of detained leaders continue to live with uncertainty and fear for the safety of their loved ones.

The continued detention of BYC leaders, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch, was highlighted as a pressing concern, representing broader challenges faced by those advocating peacefully for rights, dignity and justice.

In Quetta, public awareness activities were held in Killi Qambrani and Saryab, where pamphlets were distributed to inform citizens about one year of the detention of BYC leaders, the biased conduct of courts, the oppressive state crackdown and the ongoing atrocities inflicted upon the Baloch nation.

Organizers stressed that genuine public political activity remains banned in Balochistan and that BYC leaders are being denied their constitutional right to a fair trial.

Despite the restrictions, harassment and propaganda, the campaign demonstrated the resilience, unity, and determination of the movement. BYC reiterated its solidarity with the Baloch nation, calling on the public to remain organized, steadfast and courageous in the struggle against the oppression and systematic targeting of the Baloch people.
