The Amnesty International has expressed serious concern over the continued detention of Gulzadi Baloch, stating that she has remained in unlawful pretrial detention for nearly one year.
In a statement, Amnesty International said that Gulzadi Baloch was taken from her home by counter-terrorism officials and has since been cut off from her normal life. The organization highlighted the distress experienced by her family, noting that her sister recalled the initial hours following her detention as a period of fear and panic, when her whereabouts were unknown.

The rights group further stated that alongside her detention, peaceful protest and freedom of expression have also been restricted across Balochistan. It pointed out that, earlier this month, families of detained activists were prevented from holding a press conference at the Quetta Press Club.
Amnesty International called on Pakistani authorities to immediately release Gulzadi Baloch and all other Baloch activists who it says are being arbitrarily detained. The organization also urged the public to join its urgent campaign demanding their freedom.
