QUETTA: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan has completed 5,096 days in front of the Quetta Press Club.
Over the years, individuals from various walks of life have visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the forcibly disappeared. Participants reiterated their demand for an immediate end to enforced disappearances and the safe recovery of missing persons.
Speaking on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that the enforced disappearance of even one individual plunges an entire family into prolonged pain and psychological suffering, often paralyzing their daily lives.
He appealed to the government and heads of state institutions to address the issue on humanitarian grounds. He urged authorities to take concrete steps under existing laws to completely end enforced disappearances and ensure the recovery of missing persons, so that affected families may finally be relieved of what he described as lifelong anguish.
The VBMP camp remains one of the longest-running peaceful protests in the region, continuing to highlight the issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
