QUETTA: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan has entered its 6,089th consecutive day outside the Quetta Press Club under the leadership of Chairman Nasrullah Baloch.
During the protest, Advocate Muhammad Hassan Mengal and Sultana Baloch visited the camp, recorded their protest against enforced disappearances and expressed solidarity with the families of disappeared persons. They called for an immediate end to enforced disappearances and demanded the recovery of all disappeared individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasrullah Baloch stated that the organization has formally submitted the cases of Muhammad Irfan Qambrani, Tanveer Ahmed and Bashir Ahmed to the government and the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.
According to VBMP, Muhammad Irfan Qambrani was taken into custody by Pakistani security forces from Killi Qambrani in Quetta on the night of January 22 and subsequently forcibly disappeared.
Seventeen-year-old Tanveer Ahmed and 15-year-old Bashir Ahmed, who are brothers, were detained by personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other agencies from Sariab Customs in Quetta on the night of February 3 and later forcibly disappeared.
Nasrullah Baloch appealed to the government and the commission to ensure the safe recovery of Muhammad Irfan Qambrani, Tanveer Ahmed, and Bashir Ahmed. He emphasized that if any charges exist against them, they should be brought before the public and presented in a court of law, so that their families may be relieved from the ongoing anguish caused by their enforced disappearance.
