QUETTA: The Balochistan government has released a list of 39 individuals wanted on charges of militancy, declaring them highly wanted. Advertisements published in local newspapers on Wednesday included the names of these individuals along with the reward amounts set for assistance in their arrest.
At the top of the list are Bashir Zeb, chief of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), and Captain Rehman Gul. The government has set a bounty of Rs 2.5 billion (25 crore rupees) each for the two, the highest amount on the list.
Mir Safeer Ahmed is ranked third, with a reward of Rs 1.5 billion (15 crore rupees) announced for his arrest.
According to the government advertisement, the list also includes some individuals reported to be residing abroad. Among them are Nawabzada Hyrbyair Marri and Nawabzada Brahamdagh Bugti, with a reward of Rs 1 million (10 lakh rupees) each.
Similarly, Sher Mohammad Bugti, spokesperson for the Baloch Republican Party, is also included in the list, with a bounty of Rs 2.5 million (25 lakh rupees) announced for his arrest.
It is worth recalling that on January 31, the BLA claimed responsibility for multiple attacks in various cities of Balochistan, in which, according to official claims, dozens of security personnel were killed and injured. Following these incidents, the provincial government issued this list.
In the past as well, government officials have accused the aforementioned individuals and other Baloch leaders of involvement in militancy; however, the concerned individuals have consistently denied these allegations.
