Quetta: Pakistan Railways has decided to suspend all train services in Balochistan today due to the worsening law and order situation, citing security concerns, according to official sources.
Among the suspended services are the Jaffar Express, operating from Peshawar to Quetta, and the Jaffar Express from Quetta to Peshawar. Sources said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of passengers and railway staff.
It is noteworthy that the suspension comes amid recent attacks on trains and railway infrastructure by Baloch separatist groups, which have heightened security risks along railway routes. These incidents have raised serious concerns about the safety of rail travel in several areas of Balochistan.
Pakistan Railways officials said train operations would remain suspended until the security situation improves. No timeline has been announced for the resumption of services.
