Khuzdar: Amid a rise in enforced disappearance cases in Balochistan, another incident has been reported involving the enforced disappearance of a young woman from Khuzdar.
According to Paank, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Farzana Zehri, daughter of Muhammad Bakhsh Zehri, was taken into custody on the night of 1 December 2025 in Khuzdar while returning home from a hospital.
The organization stated that no information about Farzana Zehri’s whereabouts has been available since the incident and authorities have yet to confirm her arrest or provide any legal justification. Paank further reported that the affected family had recently migrated from Zehri to Khuzdar, yet they were still targeted.
Paank described the incident as an enforced disappearance and said it constitutes a serious violation of international human rights laws. Human rights activists noted that several cases of enforced disappearances of women have been reported in Balochistan this year, indicating an alarming trend.
According to reports, enforced disappearances this year include Mahjabeen from Quetta, Nasrina from Hub Chowki, Rahima from Dalbandin, and Farzana Zehri from Khuzdar. Human rights organizations claim that all these individuals are currently in the custody of Pakistani forces.
Paank has held the state and its institutions responsible for the safety of Farzana Zahri and all other missing persons, demanding that they be immediately produced before courts or released unconditionally. The organization has also appealed to national and international human rights bodies, the United Nations, and the global community to take serious notice of alleged enforced disappearances and human rights violations in Balochistan.
