PARIS/LONDON: The chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) and prominent Baloch political figure, Dr. Naseem Baloch, on Monday strongly rejected the Pakistan military’s claims of killing eighteen “Indian-sponsored terrorists” in Balochistan, calling it one of the deadliest deceptive operations against the Baloch nation.
According to him, those killed were unarmed Baloch youth who had gone for a picnic, not militants.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had announced that fourteen “Indian proxy militants” were killed in the Chiltan Mountains near Quetta and another four in Kech’s Buleda region during intelligence-based operations (IBOs), claiming that weapons and ammunition were recovered.
Dr. Naseem described the military’s version as a deliberate lie designed to mask a massacre. He alleged that Pakistani forces used combat drones and gunship helicopters in the attacks and then falsely labeled the victims as “Indian proxies.”
Local sources corroborated that no armed engagement took place, contradicting the army’s official account. Dr. Naseem accused Pakistan’s military of routinely fabricating such claims in an attempt to malign the Baloch national struggle. He further described the killings as part of a broader pattern of collective punishment against the Baloch people.
Dr. Naseem called on the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and democratic governments to take immediate notice and hold Islamabad accountable for what he termed “war crimes.”
“The world must break its silence. Every drone strike, every enforced disappearance, every fake encounter strengthens our resolve,” he said. “The Baloch nation’s cry for freedom will not be silenced by Pakistan’s lies and bullets.”
He concluded by appealing to neighboring countries, including India, to “stand on the right side of history” by supporting the Baloch cause morally, diplomatically, and politically.
BNM’s foreign department seconded the statement, saying: “There is no ‘Indian-sponsored terrorism’ in Balochistan. Pakistan itself is a terrorist state involved in the Baloch Genocide. The people of Balochistan are not foreign agents; they are native Baloch struggling for their freedom and dignity in their own homeland.”
“Pakistan’s repeated attempts to brand the Baloch national struggle as foreign-sponsored are nothing but propaganda, designed to justify its crimes and deflect global attention from its atrocities,” the department added.
