ZEHRI: The Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), an alliance of Baloch militant groups, issued a press release today detailing a fierce battle with the “occupying Pakistani army” in defense of the Zehri area of Khuzdar district. The group claimed that dozens of Pakistani soldiers were killed in the fighting, while six of its members lost their lives during clashes with the advancing forces.
In its statement on Tuesday, BRAS claimed that Pakistani troops launched an offensive in the area under its control, which led to several days of heavy fighting. The alliance said its fighters resisted the operation and prevented what it called an “aggressive move” aimed at suppressing local resistance and asserting state control over the region.
The group identified the six fallen fighters as Hafiz Muhammad Umar Baloch, also known as Janan and Abdul Aziz Baloch, known as Kaleemullah, who were killed on September 26, along with Sanaullah Baloch, known as Baty Khan, Abdul Aziz Baloch, known as Muhammad Ibrahim, Rashid Ahmad Zehri, known as Jamal Khan and Fayaz Jattak, known as Shahwez, who were killed on September 30.
According to BRAS, Hafiz Muhammad Umar Baloch, a resident of Quetta, joined the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) two years ago and was recognized for his leadership, organizational discipline and commitment to the cause. Abdul Aziz Baloch, from Kalat Khadi, joined the same group five months ago and despite his short tenure, gained respect for his courage and determination. Sanaullah Baloch, from Zehri, was described as an urban guerrilla specializing in intelligence gathering and defense operations, while Abdul Aziz Baloch, also from Kalat Khadi, was said to have been active both politically and operationally in the resistance movement. Rashid Ahmad Zehri, 19, from Norgama Zehri, joined the BLA three months ago and was praised for his bravery and determination. Fayaz Jattak, from Zehri, joined the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in January this year and was known for his discipline, sense of duty and calm demeanor on the frontlines.
The organization stated that the Zehri clashes represent a continuation of the broader Baloch resistance movement, which, despite state repression, has become more organized, unified and ideologically mature. BRAS emphasized that the sacrifices of its members mark a new milestone in the Baloch national liberation struggle, providing renewed strength and direction to the movement.
In its statement, BRAS reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining unity among its constituent organizations, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Baloch Republican Guard (BRG), and Sindhu Desh Revolutionary Army (SDRA). The alliance stated that its cooperation extends beyond the battlefield, encompassing political and organizational coordination aimed at ensuring a unified front in pursuit of national liberation.
