Siege of Zehri: Pakistan Army Launches Heliborne Assault Amid Curfew-Like Conditions

KHUZDAR: The Pakistan Army’s operation in Zehri town, Khuzdar, has continued over the past few days.

According to local sources, the military has besieged Zehri for the last three days. Many residents were taken away during door-to-door search operations, while helicopters were seen hovering over the town throughout the day to support ground forces.

“At certain locations in the Sohinda mountain ranges, commandos were deployed from hovering helicopters to secure their targets. Following the heliborne insertion, heavy gunfire and explosions were heard in the surrounding areas,” the sources said. However, it remains difficult to verify information about casualties in the ongoing ground and air assaults.

It is pertinent to mention that internet services have been shut down in the area and the movement of residents has been restricted for nearly a week. The operation has effectively paralyzed normal life, with citizens confined to their homes under curfew-like conditions. Gathering information about the fresh assaults has been challenging, though inquiries are ongoing.

The Pakistan military has been attempting to retake control of Zehri, which has been under the control of Baloch freedom fighters since 11 August 2025. Several previous attempts by the military to recapture the town have reportedly failed.
