QUETTA: The protest camp set up outside the Quetta Press Club by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) for the recovery of forcibly disappeared Baloch persons and the end of enforced disappearances continued for its 6,348th day today, Friday.

Faiz Amir, among others, visited the protest camp and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons.

The family of forcibly disappeared Zeeshan Nichari participated in the protest camp and recorded their protest over the non-recovery of their son. The family said that their son has been forcibly disappeared since 2013 and that his case is under hearing before the Commission. They said they have contacted senior authorities multiple times, but their son has still not been recovered, nor has any information been provided about him, as a result of which their family has been forced to live in severe distress and suffering.

The family appealed to senior authorities to take immediate steps for the recovery of Zeeshan Nichari and to free their family from this prolonged suffering.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch demanded that the government and heads of state institutions take immediate and practical steps to resolve the issue of enforced disappearances in accordance with national law. He demanded that the recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons, including Zeeshan Nichari, be ensured, saying that anyone against whom there are allegations should be brought before the public and produced in court and given the right to legal defense.

Nasrullah Baloch said that families affected by enforced disappearances have been facing severe mental distress and suffering for a long time and that the government should take immediate steps to free these families from this suffering.
