QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of intelligence-based operations conducted between March 31 and July 13, 2026, saying its fighters killed 12 individuals it described as key informants and operatives of the Pakistani military, Military Intelligence (MI), and local “death squads.”
In a statement issued to media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that during these operations, individuals detained by the group were tried before what it calls the “Baloch National Court.” The group said the court found them guilty of “national treason” and other serious offenses against the Baloch people and sentenced them to death, sentences which the group said its fighters then carried out at designated locations.
The spokesperson said BLA fighters killed an Military Intelligence operative, identified as Sohail, son of Ibrahim, in an armed attack in the Alandor area of Buleda on July 5. The group said that Sohail was directly involved in informing for the military, facilitating new recruitments, and participating in Baloch-targeted activities as part of a military-created armed “death squad.” The group further said he was directly involved in the killing of two BLA fighters, identified by the group as Sangat Jabir Nasir (alias Sameer) and Sangat Faqeer Jan (alias Mir Jan).
The spokesperson said that on July 12, fighters carried out an armed attack on what the group described as a hidden Military Intelligence base in Mashkel, killing five operatives present at the location. The group said these individuals were operating undercover in the area, running an informant network for the military, and had been using a shop as a facilitation center and hideout.
The group said its fighters detained a senior military operative, Haji Manan Makki, along with his associate Asif Jogezai, from the Mall Doshai area of Noshki. According to the group, during interrogation Haji Manan confessed to having lived in Mall for the past year and to being in direct contact with a Pakistani army assistant director, identified as Isfandyar Tareen (a resident of Pishin), posted at the Noshki military camp. The group said he confessed to being tasked with identifying the movements and routes of independence-seeking fighters in Mall and surrounding areas and to regularly visiting a “death squad” camp run by an individual named Hafiz Mumtaz.
The group further said that he facilitated so-called official jirgas and the establishment of military posts in the area at the military’s behest. The group also alleged that Manan was involved in extorting large sums of money and receiving “hospitality” from families of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals, in exchange for promises to help recover their missing relatives. The group said Asif Jogezai, son of Khan Muhammad Jogezai, was a continuous accomplice in all these crimes, and that during interrogation, he too confessed to the allegations alongside Haji Manan. The group said the “Baloch National Court” sentenced both men to death for treason and Baloch-targeted acts and that the sentence was carried out by fighters at a location called Jorkein.
The spokesperson said that on July 13, BLA fighters killed another senior military operative, identified as Tariq Badini, in an armed attack in Noshki bazaar. The group said that Badini facilitated state “surrender dramas” and headed an entire network of military informants operating in and around Noshki city. The group further said that he was directly involved alongside the military in violations of private homes, military raids on houses, and the harassment and humiliation of women and elderly residents. The group also alleged that Badini had informed on his own brother, Salal Badini, and cousin, Fareed Badini, leading to their forced disappearance by the military; the group said both were later found killed in custody, with their mutilated bodies discovered in Zareen forest, Noshki, in October 2022. The group additionally said that Badini was involved in multiple incidents of targeted killings carried out at the military’s direction in Noshki.
The spokesperson said BLA fighters detained a man identified as Aziz Ahmed, a resident of Qadirabad, Noshki, from his home. The group said that during interrogation, Aziz confessed to working as an operative for the Pakistani military, including providing logistical support such as delivering supplies to military camps and transporting military personnel in civilian clothing between Noshki and Quetta in his private vehicle. The group further said that Aziz confessed to transporting women to the military’s Station Post, Gulangor Post, and 102 Wing for what the group described as immoral activities, and that he blackmailed vulnerable women into becoming informants for the military and intelligence agencies. The group said Aziz Ahmed was sentenced to death over these allegations and stated that during interrogation, he disclosed the names of other individuals in his network along with what the group described as important organizational secrets, adding that action would soon be taken against those named.
The spokesperson said that on March 31, BLA fighters detained two individuals, identified as Mool Jan, son of Abdul Qadus and Wazir, son of Abdul Qadir, both residents of Sabzap, Panjgur, in connection with a drone strike on a temporary BLA position in the Pardan area of Panjgur. The group said both men confessed during interrogation to being secretly affiliated for the past year with a “death squad” allegedly led by an individual named Sattar. The group said that in January of this year, the two men, accompanied by Sattar and an individual identified as Mullah Sharif, visited the military’s main camp, where, following a meeting with military officials, they were given “tracking chips” to be used for surveillance of fighters.
The group said the men confessed to closely monitoring fighters’ movements in the area prior to placing the chips and to providing logistical support to the military alongside the “death squad.” The group said both men formally confessed to having delivered the tracking chips to the temporary BLA hideout in Pardan, Panjgur, after which the military carried out a drone strike targeting that specific location. The group said that the day after the drone strike, a large contingent led by the “death squad” arrived at the location alongside the military and began further military action in the area. The group said the “Baloch National Court” ruled that both men be given an exemplary punishment for this offence and that fighters carried out the sentence on July 1 in the Gwargo area of Panjgur.
The group noted that seven of its fighters were killed in the drone strike referenced above, identifying them as Sangat Abdul Ghafoor (alias Chakar), Sangat Imdad (alias Nauod), Sangat Hafiz Mumtaz (alias Zirak), Sangat Hafiz Zaid (alias Sagar), Sangat Yasir (alias Aajiz), Sangat Ali Raza (alias Shihak), and Sangat Shahjahan (alias Sawar).
The spokesperson said the BLA wished to make clear that there would no longer be any safe haven in Balochistan for individuals it considers national traitors, informants, or death squad operatives. The group said that anyone aligning against their own people for the sake of limited privileges or temporary military patronage should understand that, in the group’s view, the protection offered by their patrons is itself under threat.
The spokesperson said the group’s actions against those it accuses of treason had reached a stage where it says no forgiveness, leniency, or compromise remains possible, warning that continued cooperation with security forces would, in the group’s words, result in a severe reckoning for those involved.
