QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed that its fighters attacked and took control of Chagai city on Thursday, July 9, 2026, according to a statement issued by the group’s spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch.
In the statement, BLF said its fighters seized control of major government buildings and administrative installations in the city, including the police station and the Levies station, and claimed this control remains in place.
The group further claimed that after taking military control of the city, its fighters (Sarmachars) set up checkpoints on all entry and exit routes and major highways leading into Chagai to maintain their position.
BLF said that networks it accuses of exploiting Baloch natural resources “under the patronage of the occupying state”, along with those it says protect them, suffered a major setback as a result of the operation.
The group said a detailed report on casualties and losses from the operation would be released once it concludes.
