Gwadar/Pasni: Pakistani security forces have forcibly disappeared at least five individuals in two separate incidents in the coastal district of Gwadar, Balochistan, within the past 24 hours, according to local sources and family members.
According to the source, an elderly 85-year-old man from Dasht Shulig was taken into custody by Pakistani forces near the Door Checkpoint in Gwadar on June 28, 2026, and has since been forcibly disappeared. The missing man has been identified as Jam Abdullah, son of Jam Musa.
Family sources noted that his brother, Huda Dad, had previously died of a sudden heart attack during a military operation carried out by security forces in the area.
In a separate incident in Pasni, a coastal area of Gwadar district, four men were taken into custody during a late-night raid and have since been forcibly disappeared, according to local sources.
Two of the disappeared individuals have been identified as brothers Rahim Lal, son of Lal Bakhsh, and Amir Lal, son of Lal Bakhsh. The identities of the remaining two individuals could not be confirmed.
According to local sources, the incident took place at approximately 1:00 AM in the Reek Pusht area, Ward Number 7, Pasni.
Local sources further stated that alongside Pakistani security forces personnel, an armed group was also present during the operation, which some quarters are describing as a “death squad.”
Both incidents add to a growing list of reported enforced disappearances in Balochistan, a longstanding issue that human rights organizations have repeatedly raised concern over. The United Nations and several international human rights bodies have previously called on Pakistan to address the issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
