On the First day of Eid al-Fitr, where people in the Muslim world were celebrating the Eid, while protests and rallies were held across Balochistan against forced disappearances and state oppression.
In almost all small and big cities of Balochistan and Karachi, Protest held on the call of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee and Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, people along with the families of the missing persons came out to the streets, in front of the Press clubs in thousands, against forced disappearances, Baloch genocide and state oppression.
The participants of the protest demanded the recoveries of the missing persons and an end to enforced disappearances. Speaking at a protest rally in Shall (Quetta) , Vice Chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons Mama Qadeer Baloch said that the government’s claims are false, thousands of people are currently missing from Balochistan.
He said that if only 100 people are missing according to former Chief Minister Quddus Bizenjo, then they should recover them and present them in the courts of justice, the serious problem of enforced disappearance can be felt by those whose loved ones are missing. Our demand is that those who are in the custody of the state institutions should be presented in the courts
Addressing the protest rally, Dr. Mah Rang Baloch, the leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, said that the state institutions are not serious in solving the serious problem of forced disappearances, the number of forced disappearances are increasing every month, while Baloch are being killed extrajudicially.
She further said that the reality of the issue of enforced disappearance can be understood by those whose loved ones are missing, while government authorities wants to make this issue more controversial instead of taking it seriously.
Speaking to the participants of the rally organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons and Baloch Yakjehti Committee Karachi, VBMP General Secretary Sammi Deen Baloch said that “Every year we mourn for the recoveries of our loved ones in the joy of Eid.” we comes to the streets, where people around the world are busy with Eid shopping, our moon night is spent preparing for banners and posters for protests, those whose loved ones are missing, their happiness is missing, their own happiness has no meaning.
She said that we have applied all methods of democratic protest but this state is not at all serious in the matter of forced disappearances, a week ago two youths of Karachi were extrajudicially killed by the state forces. How this family can celebrate Eid.
In other cities of Balochistan, Turbat, Khuzdar, Hub, Naseerabad, Barkhan, Gwadar Panjgur, Parom, Buledah and other cities, protests were held on the evening of Eid on the call of BYC, rallies were held and people in Thousands protested with the relatives of the missing personsIn the protests and rallies, the participants carried pictures of missing persons and placards with slogans for recoveries of missing persons, end of Baloch genocide and against state oppression.
The families of the missing persons demanded the state authorities to recover their loved ones and appealed that if there is any charge against their loved ones, they should be presented in the courts established by the state.
