QUETTA — The sit-in demonstration demanding the recovery of Khadija Baloch, a nursing student who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces, entered its thirteenth consecutive day outside Bolan Medical College (BMC) in Quetta.
According to the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), the family of Khadija Baloch has faced relentless pressure and difficulties throughout the past thirteen days, with authorities yet to make any visible progress toward her recovery.
The BYC further said that photographs of protest participants are being taken by state operatives, and that when demonstrators return to their homes, they are followed and subjected to attempted detention. The organization stated that the same pattern of surveillance, photography, and detention attempts was witnessed again on Sunday, when participants faced what the BYC described as deliberate intimidation tactics designed to discourage attendance.
Despite the mounting pressure, the family of Khadija Baloch has refused to back down, maintaining their demand for her immediate and safe recovery and vowing to continue the protest until she is returned.
