QUETTA: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has said that the second phase of its Operation, Operation Herof 2.0, has entered its fourth consecutive day, with its fighters maintaining control over several areas across Balochistan.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that fighters continue to hold strong positions in Noshki city and multiple other locations, describing the situation on the ground as fluid but firmly under the group’s control. According to the statement, Pakistani security forces are facing sustained pressure, repeated setbacks, and operational disarray on several fronts, while BLA fighters continue to resist and repel military advances.

The BLA claimed that, based on what it termed preliminary and cautious assessments, around 280 personnel belonging to the Pakistani army, Frontier Corps (FC), police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and army-backed armed groups have been killed so far during the operation. The group said these figures were not final and could rise as fighting continues, adding that detailed and consolidated information regarding losses would be released at a later stage.

The statement also acknowledged losses on the BLA side, saying that 35 fighters have been killed during Operation Herof so far. According to the BLA, those killed include 18 fidayeen from the Majeed Brigade, 10 members of the Fateh Squad, and seven fighters from the STOS unit. Further details about the deceased fighters, the group said, would be made public separately.

Jeeyand Baloch said that Pakistani forces have suffered a decisive defeat in direct ground engagements and have subsequently resorted to drone strikes and helicopter shelling against civilian areas in an effort to conceal military failures. He claimed that these actions have resulted in the deaths of multiple civilians, calling them evidence of what he termed the “moral, military, and political collapse” of the state.

The statement concluded by saying that Operation Herof 2.0 remains ongoing, with developments continuing across different parts of Balochistan.
