BSO Has Kept Baloch Society Ideologically Connected to the National Movement: Spokesperson

BSO Azad

QUETTA: The Baloch Students Organization (Azad) has said that BSO is the national institution that not only strengthened the Baloch national movement on ideological foundations but also nurtured institutional thinking, giving a new direction to political consciousness within Baloch society. By grounding the national struggle for freedom in knowledge and intellect, BSO shaped Baloch society into a new ideological framework through which the Baloch nation continues its journey of national formation. By promoting the values of freedom, peace, ethics, and moral principles, the organization has produced a conscious and politically aware generation.

The spokesperson said that since the foundation of BSO on 26 November 1967, the organization has undergone a continuous process of evolution, emerging as a well-structured and strong national institution. During this journey, various vested-interest groups attempted to dominate BSO for their personal and factional agendas and tried to push it towards parliamentary politics. However, after 2000, the historic decision of the Baloch youth not only freed the organization from such elements but also aligned it with its true national purpose. This pivotal moment infused new energy into the Baloch national movement across all fronts and further strengthened the struggle for Baloch national freedom on ideological and organizational grounds.

The spokesperson added that BSO spread the message of national freedom to every household, village and city, educating the Baloch nation about liberation and awakening them intellectually. From children to youth, the organization imparted national consciousness, reconnecting society with the struggle for freedom in accordance with Baloch national values. BSO’s slogan “The pen is our voice, the book is our guide and the freedom of Balochistan is our destination” is not merely a slogan but an ideological philosophy on which the organization has continued its struggle within Baloch society.

They stated that BSO has made immense sacrifices for this national struggle. From ordinary members to central leaders, many have been martyred or forcibly disappeared at the hands of the Pakistani state. Figures such as Lumah Watan Banuk Karima, Raza Jahangir, Shafi Jan, Qambar Chakar and Comrade Qayoom sacrificed their lives in defense of the organization without ever compromising its ideology. Similarly, central chairman Zahid Kurd Baloch and central information secretary Shabbir Baloch remain in Pakistani detention centers, steadfastly resisting despite the brutality, proving the strength of their ideological commitment.

The spokesperson said that BSO has completed 58 years a history filled with sacrifices and remarkable achievements. Despite the harshest circumstances and the loss of its great leaders, the organization has remained firmly committed to its ideology and objectives. This, they added, is proof that this national and revolutionary institution will never abandon the defense of national dignity and freedom.

The spokesperson further emphasized that it is the national responsibility of Baloch youth to understand the importance of this institution and remain ideologically connected to its philosophy, as their shared mission is the creation of a peaceful, dignified, and value-based society.
