Quetta: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a deadly ambush on a Pakistani military convoy in the Jhao area of Awaran district, killing eleven soldiers and injuring six others, including Captain Irtiza, according to a statement issued by the group’s spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch.

According to the BLF statement, the attack occurred around 4:30 p.m. when its fighters ambushed a three-vehicle military convoy in the Patki area of Jhao, using modern and heavy weapons. The group claimed that all three vehicles were disabled during the coordinated assault, leaving the soldiers with no opportunity to regroup or return fire.

The spokesperson further said that the targeted convoy was returning from a military operation in the area and linked the attack to the killing of a “forcibly disappeared laborer,” identified as Hamza Baloch.

Following the incident, Pakistani forces reportedly airlifted the wounded personnel to Awaran and Khuzdar for medical treatment. The BLF also accused the military of concealing casualty figures “to prevent a decline in troop morale.”

There has been no official confirmation of the incident or casualty numbers from the Pakistani military or local authorities so far.

The Balochistan Liberation Front reiterated that its operations against security forces would continue until what it described as the “complete freedom of Balochistan.”
