A protest was held in the city of Hanover, Germany, against state repression in Balochistan, the ongoing Baloch genocide, enforced disappearances, and the crackdown on the leadership of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). The demonstration was jointly organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Baloch Republican Party (BRP), and Free Balochistan Movement (FBM).
A large number of Baloch political activists residing in Germany participated in the protest, including women and youth. The protesters carried placards and banners inscribed with slogans condemning state oppression, enforced disappearances, and restrictions on freedom of expression in Balochistan. Pamphlets were also distributed in German and English to raise awareness about the human rights violations taking place in Balochistan.
The protesters strongly condemned the ongoing crackdown on the BYC leadership by Pakistani authorities and called on international human rights organizations to take urgent notice of this state repression.
The protest was addressed by Hamal Baloch, Shar Hassan Baloch, and Shali Baloch from the BNM; Mumtaz Baloch from the Free Balochistan Movement, and other speakers from the BRP. The speakers stated that the Pakistani state is using force to suppress peaceful political struggle. They urged the international community, including the United Nations and global human rights organizations, to break their silence on the atrocities being committed against the Baloch people and to intervene immediately.
