The protest camp of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has marked 5760 days, symbolizing its unwavering stand against enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
Political and social activists from Bolan, including Sheerdil Baloch, Hakeem Baloch, and others, visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the disappeared. They stated that Pakistan has engulfed Balochistan in the flames of war, and instead of seeking peace, the state continues to fuel the crisis through escalating violence. This approach, they said, is not only intensifying the conflict but has also turned human rights violations into a disturbing norm.
VBMP’s Vice Chairman, Mama Qadeer Baloch, addressing visiting delegations, stressed the urgent need for nationalists to devise a strategy for protecting their people, emphasizing that enforced disappearances have become a routine occurrence in Balochistan.
He remarked that Pakistan’s oppressive treatment of the Baloch mirrors that of slavery, warning that this persistent situation will continue to deprive the Baloch people of progress and prosperity.
He further highlighted that due to military actions and raids on homes, many families have sought refuge in major cities, including Karachi. However, even in these urban centers, state institutions continue to target them, subjecting them to violence and enforced disappearances.
