
QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Armed individuals set up checkpoints and conducted snap checks in multiple areas of Balochistan over the past 24 hours, even as a separate report emerged of an attack by Baloch Freedom Fighters on hideouts of “death squad” commander in Khuzdar.
According to local sources, armed men established checkpoints at Chehtar Bazaar in Dalbandin, Chagai, maintaining snap checks on the highway for more than four hours. A similar operation was reported the previous evening in the Dasht, Pango area of Mastung, where armed individuals set up checkpoints on the main highway and carried out snap checks on passing traffic.
Authorities have not issued any details regarding either incident.
In a separate, breaking development, a large group of Baloch Freedom Fighters reportedly attacked three locations in the Tootak area of Khuzdar linked to Shafiq Mengal, the head of a “death squad”. According to unconfirmed reports, the attack resulted in four personnel killed and one captured.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and no official statement has been issued by authorities regarding either incident. The casualty figures remain unverified.
