VBMP Announces Protest on International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has announced a peaceful protest demonstration to mark the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, to be held on August 30 at 4 p.m. outside the Quetta Press Club.

According to the VBMP, the protest aims to highlight the ongoing issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, with particular emphasis on ending the forced disappearance of Baloch women, halting the extrajudicial killing of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals and demanding the safe recovery of all missing persons.

VBMP called on the government, heads of state institutions and bodies responsible for the administration of justice to take practical and effective measures toward a permanent resolution of enforced disappearances, describing it as a serious human rights concern and to ensure the safe recovery of missing persons in Balochistan. The organization further stated that if any individual is accused of wrongdoing, they should be presented before a court of law in accordance with due process and granted their legal right to defend themselves.

The organization appealed to all political parties, student organizations, human rights activists, civil society members and people from all walks of life, including the Baloch nation, to participate in the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) demonstration on August 30 at 4 p.m. at the Quetta Press Club.
