7 People Forcibly Disappeared, Baloch Woman Student Among 3 Released

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Reports have emerged of the forced disappearance of seven people from Balochistan’s Chagai and Quetta districts, as well as Karachi’s Malir area, while three individuals forcibly disappeared from Quetta have been released and returned home. A fourth person, a student abducted last month, has also been confirmed released from Pakistani torture cells.

According to reports, on August 4, 2026, two young men Syed Nizam Shah, son of Syed Ghiyas and Azhar-ul-Haq, son of Abdul Hakeem were picked up from their homes at 3 a.m. by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in the Killi Syed Qadir area of Chagai and have since gone missing. Twenty-two-year-old Syed Nizam Shah is associated with agriculture, while 18-year-old Azhar-ul-Haq works as a shopkeeper.

Separately, five people were detained and subsequently disappeared from Tikri Village in Karachi’s Mari Pur area on August 16, after being taken from their homes by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), police and Rangers.

Those who went disappeared include 30-year-old Amir, son of Ahmed, 25-year-old Dost Muhammad, son of Qasim; 20-year-old Muhammad Khalid, son of Muhammad Shafi, 20-year-old Shahbaz Ahmed, son of Niaz Ahmed and 25-year-old Sakhi, son of Karam Dad.

According to reports, Amir and Sakhi were taken from their homes at around 2 a.m., while Dost Muhammad, Muhammad Khalid, and Shahbaz Ahmed were taken at 7:30 p.m. Among them, Amir and Sakhi work in fishing, Dost Muhammad is a laborer, Muhammad Khalid is also a fisherman, and Shahbaz Ahmed is a student.

Meanwhile, three individuals forcibly disappeared from Quetta Saifullah Baloch, Mudassar Baloch and Asif Ali have been released.

Saifullah Baloch, son of Mehrullah Baloch, and Mudassar Baloch, son of Sher Dil Baloch, were disappaered from Quetta’s Saryab Road on July 24, 2026. Both were released from a Quetta taxi stand on August 13, 2026.

Similarly, Asif Ali, son of Ahmed Raza, disappeared on August 1, 2026, from Killi Shaheed Haji Ramzan near Jabal-e-Noor Bypass in Quetta, and was released in Quetta on August 17, 2026.

In a related development, a 16-year-old Baloch student, Rizwana, daughter of Gul Jan and a resident of Mastung studying in First Year, was taken into custody by Pakistani forces and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) from Quetta’s Samungli Road on June 28. She remained unaccounted for following her detention, but the Baloch Yakjehti Committee confirmed her release.
