CHAGAI: A large number of armed individuals reportedly entered the town of Chagai in Balochistan district and carried out operations targeting various government installations, police stations, Levies posts, and banks.
According to sources, the armed individuals blocked the town’s entry and exit routes, disrupting the movement of people and vehicles. Reports indicate that after taking control of certain police stations and Levies posts, they seized government weapons and equipment stationed there. Subsequently, several government buildings and installations were set on fire.
According to initial reports, armed individuals were seen in different parts of the town, while government offices, banks, and other state-owned properties were also reportedly damaged. However, these claims have not yet been independently verified.
Chagai, where the world-renowned Reko Diq copper and gold project is located, has also been the scene of security-related incidents in recent years. In November 2025, the Balochistan Liberation Front claimed responsibility for a coordinated attack in Nok Kundi.
So far, the authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the current situation, and no organization has claimed responsibility for these latest operations.
