BUSAN: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest in Busan on March 22, 2026, alongside supporters and solidarity activists, as part of its ongoing global campaign to raise awareness about the human rights situation in Balochistan.

The demonstration, held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM near the Apple Outlet at Sasang Station, brought together participants who highlighted concerns over enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, torture and what they described as systematic repression of Baloch civilians, activists and families.

As part of the protest, organizers carried out extensive pamphleting. The BNM South Korea chapter distributed detailed informational materials in both English and Korean, outlining reported statistics and patterns of abuses in Balochistan. The pamphlets cited data from Paank, the human rights wing of BNM.

According to the distributed material, February 2026 saw 109 reported cases of enforced disappearances and 50 cases of extrajudicial killings, while January 2026 recorded 82 disappearances and 12 killings. The pamphlets also referenced incidents in early March, including reported killings in Mashkay (Awaran district) and Panjgur, as well as new cases of abductions.

The material further highlighted broader trends, claiming that over 1,200 enforced disappearances were documented in 2025, along with more than 200 reported extrajudicial killings. It also referred to what was described as a “kill-and-dump” policy, alleging that bodies are abandoned to instill fear among the population. The pamphlets called on the international community to recognize the situation as a humanitarian concern requiring urgent attention.

Several speakers addressed the gathering, including Yaseen Baloch, Hafsa Baloch, Agha Faiz and Bakhtawar Baloch, delivering speeches in both English and Korean. They expressed concern over the situation in Balochistan and called for increased international awareness and intervention. Speakers also raised issues such as the reported targeting of women and families and urged the release of individuals described as missing persons.

Throughout the protest, participants chanted slogans including calls to end enforced disappearances, demands for justice and appeals for freedom. The chants, along with banners and speeches, drew attention from passers-by and aimed to amplify the message of the demonstration.

The protest was part of BNM’s international awareness campaign running from March 10 to April 9, which includes coordinated events in multiple countries. The organization said it would continue its efforts to raise awareness globally and called on international institutions and human rights organizations to take notice of the concerns raised.
