Balochistan: Reports of enforced disappearances continue to rise across Balochistan, with multiple individuals taken into custody by Pakistani forces and transferred to unknown locations.
From Quetta, Kalat, and Kech, a total of ten individuals have reportedly been detained. Their identities are listed as Shoaib Ahmad (son of Muhammad Bakhsh Qambarani), Saddam (son of Abdul Ahud), Zubair (son of Khalil Ahmad), Jawad (son of Abdul Rashid), Abdul Rahim (son of Barkat Ali), Asif (son of Chairman Islam), Yasir (son of Baloch), Ali Ahmad (son of Altaf), Rahim Bakhsh (son of Karim Bakhsh), and Safar Khan (son of Muhammad Ali).
Family members stated that these individuals were taken from their homes or nearby areas at different times and no information has been provided regarding their whereabouts since.
Enforced disappearances have been a major human rights issue in Balochistan for the past two decades, prompting consistent concern from nationalist organizations and human rights activists.
Meanwhile, in Panjgur, a body was recovered from the Shapatan area. The deceased has been identified as Yahya Noor (son of Noor Muhammad), resident of Paroom, who had been forcibly disappeared for six months. Family members reported that Yahya Noor was abducted by unknown armed individuals from Airport Road and had been disappeared ever since.
Local authorities took the body into custody and transferred it to a hospital for identification. Sources indicate that the abductors were affiliated with a government-backed armed group known as the “Death Squad.”
Families of the victims are demanding justice and transparent investigations into these cases.
