QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of road blockades and attacks targeting Pakistani security forces in Turbat, Dera Murad Jamali, Awaran, Kharan and Buleda, according to a statement issued by its spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch.

According to the statement, BLF fighters carried out a road blockade and snap checking in the Hothabad area of Turbat on January 20. During the operation, the group claims to have seized a vehicle carrying rations and supplies for the Pakistani army. The driver was later released after being warned, the statement said.

The BLF further claimed that on January 19, its fighters targeted a convoy of Colonel Rizwan of the Frontier Corps (FC 144 Wing) on Pat Feeder Bedar Road in Dera Murad Jamali. The group said that several FC personnel were injured and vehicles damaged in the attack.

In a separate incident on the same day, BLF claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a foot patrol of the Pakistani army in the Bazdad area of Awaran, saying that one soldier was killed and another seriously injured.

The group also stated that on January 16, its fighters carried out a grenade attack on the hideout of a state-backed armed operative, identified as Shahid Gul Mulazai, in Kharan.

Additionally, the BLF claimed that on January 14, its fighters attacked a Pakistani army checkpoint in the Alandoor area of Buleda using heavy weapons, resulting casualties and material losses.

The statement also paid tribute to BLF member Baddal alias Dildar, son of Khudabaksh, a resident of Duraski, Awaran, who was reportedly killed on January 12 during a clash with Pakistani forces while on leave visiting his family. According to the BLF, Dildar joined the organization in 2013 and was later promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant. The group described him as a committed and experienced fighter.

The BLF claimed that despite said forced displacement and military operations, the family of the deceased remains associated with the Baloch national movement.

In the statement, the BLF also issued a warning to a local contractor from Turbat, identified as Muhammad Rahim Zehri, urging him to stop supplying provisions to Pakistani security forces.
