TURBAT: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military checkpost in Turbat and for the killing of two individuals the group described as members of a State-backed “death squad.”
BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters struck a Pakistani forces’ post in the Kekan area of Kech district near Turbat on the evening of October 25 at around 6:00 p.m., using rocket launchers and heavy weapons. The group said the strike caused both human and material losses to the occupying forces.
In a separate operation late the same night in Sangani Sar, Turbat, BLF fighters acting on an intelligence tip from the organization’s intelligence wing reportedly opened fire on two men identified as Akram Murad Zamurani and Shai Mureed. The BLF said both men, whom it accused of operating as a “death squad” with support from military intelligence, were killed on the spot. The group further claimed that it seized government weapons from the scene.
The BLF alleged that Shai Mureed had previously been a member of the Samir Subzal group, which the BLF accuses of involvement in killings, abductions, thefts, robberies and drug trafficking in Kech under the patronage of military intelligence. The statement also accused the two men of involvement in a recent shooting at a women’s rally in Nazrabad (Tump) and in multiple enforced disappearances and killings of local youth.
The BLF said it accepts responsibility for the attack on the checkpost in Kekan and for the targeted killings in Sangani Sar, and vowed to continue operations against Pakistani security forces and their armed proxies.
The claims have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate response from the Pakistani military.
