BNM Announces 3 Days Events During Upcoming UN Human Rights Council Session at Geneva

⦿ The alarming situation in Balochistan will be a central focus of discussion at the Geneva events.

During the 57th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, from September 9 to October 11, 2024, BNM will organize a three-day series of events in Balochistan. These events will focus on highlighting the human rights situation in Balochistan and addressing the Baloch national question through various programs.

These programs will commence on September 16 with a press conference. A demonstration will be held on September 17, followed by a photo exhibition from September 17 to 18, aimed at raising awareness about the Baloch nation and Balochistan.BNM members and leadership from various countries around the world will participate in these programs. The events will be streamed live on BNM’s social media platforms, including Zrumbesh News.

The spokesperson for the Baloch National Movement (BNM) stated that the party intends to engage international organizations regarding the human rights situation in Balochistan and the Baloch national independence movement. Balochistan, an occupied country seized by Pakistan through military force, continues to resist this occupation. In response to this multifaceted resistance, the Pakistani army has committed serious crimes, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. The frustration of the Pakistani military over its failure to suppress the Baloch Sarmachars’ attacks is taken out on the unarmed population. Balochistan was occupied by Pakistan in March 1948, and since then, the Baloch nation has endured repeated military massacres. Currently, top military and political authorities are signaling an escalation in the ongoing genocide in Balochistan, which could lead to even more bloodshed in the coming days. This situation demands urgent global action to prevent further atrocities.

He stated that, to hide its defeat and military failures against the Baloch Sarmachars, the Pakistan army has increasingly resorted to custodial killings, disposing of the bodies of forcibly disappeared persons. This alarming situation will be a key focus of discussion at the Geneva events.

BNM invites human rights and Baloch national activists to participate in these programs. These programs will be broadcast on social media using the following hashtags. The spokesperson has urged all party members and supporters to focus on social media communication during this time and to help make the content published in various languages go viral using the designated hashtags.
