QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The protest camp organized by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances continued for its 6,217th day outside the Quetta Press Club. Ghulam Abbas Qambrani attended the camp on this occasion and submitted case details of his two forcibly disappeared sons to VBMP.
Ghulam Abbas Qambrani, who is affected by paralysis, said his two sons Hamal Khan Qambrani and Bebarg Qambrani have been forcibly disappeared since December 5, 2025.
He said his son Hamal Khan Qambrani was taken into custody by personnel of state institutions on December 5, 2025, at around 7 PM, from the Degari Cross FC checkpoint, along with three of his friends. According to him, the three friends were released the following day, but Hamal Khan remains forcibly disappeared to date.
Ghulam Abbas further said his other son, Bebarg Qambrani, was picked up by CTD and other state institution personnel from a wedding function in Killi Qambrani, Quetta, at around 11:45 PM on the same night December 5, 2025 under the pretext of investigation. He said there are multiple eyewitnesses to the incident, but no information about Bebarg Qambrani has been provided to date.
He told VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch that he had visited the relevant police station multiple times to register an FIR regarding his sons’ enforced disappearance, but his request was not accepted. He said he had also repeatedly contacted senior authorities in an effort to secure his sons’ safe recovery, but neither has been produced before any court, nor has any information been provided about their whereabouts or condition leaving his family in severe mental distress and anguish.
On this occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch assured Ghulam Abbas Qambrani that his sons’ cases would be raised at the organizational level before the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances and the provincial government, and that the group would continue to raise its voice for their safe recovery at every forum.
He appealed to senior authorities to ensure the safe recovery of all missing persons, including Hamal Khan Qambrani and Bebarg Qambrani, and said that if any charges exist against them, they should be presented before a court of law in accordance with due process.
