QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has called for the immediate release of three elderly men, including the father and two uncles of Baloch National Movement Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch, who have been held in incommunicado detention by Pakistani forces for over three months.
According to a statement issued by Baloch Women Forum organizer Dr. Shalee Baloch on social media platform X, Mohammad Bakhsh Sajidi, father of Dr. Naseem Baloch, along with his unclesRafeeq Baloch and Naeem Sajidi, were taken into custody by Pakistani forces on February 2, 2026. No official authority has since acknowledged their detention or disclosed any information regarding their whereabouts or legal status.
She Further said that, All three detainees are elderly men nearing 70 years of age and suffer from serious health conditions including diabetes and hypertension. The forum warned that their prolonged incommunicado detention places their lives at serious risk and raises urgent concerns regarding their safety and access to essential medical treatment.
Dr. Shalee Baloch said the targeting of Dr. Naseem Baloch’s close family members reflects a systematic policy of collective punishment. She said the use of family members as leverage to pressure political voices represents a deeply concerning shift in state conduct.
“Such practice is incompatible with fundamental principles of law, due process and internationally recognized human rights standards,” Dr. Shalee Baloch said in the statement.
The BWF called upon international human rights bodies, including the United Nations Human Rights Council, to take immediate cognizance of the situation and initiate independent and credible investigations into the violations in Balochistan.
The forum further urged that Pakistan be held accountable for serious and systematic human rights violations in Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, prolonged incommunicado detention and the use of collective punishment against families.
The forum demanded that the three detainees be brought before a court without delay, their whereabouts officially disclosed and that they be provided full access to legal representation and urgent medical care.
