Quetta: Baloch National Movement (BNM) Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch has paid tribute to the Martyrs of Sham-e-Sar on the occasion of their second martyrdom anniversary. He shared the statement on social media platform X, remembering the victims who were killed on 18 January 2024 when Pakistani forces carried out a missile and drone attack on the homes of Baloch refugees in Sham-e-Sar (Haqqabad), Sistan and Balochistan, Iran.
According to the statement, the bombardment resulted in the martyrdom of BNM senior member Dosta Mehmood Baloch (Chairman Dosta) along with his entire family, turning a place of refuge into a graveyard.
The victims of the attack included:
• Shazia Baloch, wife of Dosta Mehmood
• Chirag Dost (3 months old)
• Babar Dost (5 years old)
• Hani Dost (7 years old)
The statement further said that other innocent civilians were also martyred in the attack, including:
• Najma Baloch
• Mahikan Asghar (7 years old)
• Mahzaib Asghar (4 years old)
• Farhad Baloch (17 years old)
Dr. Naseem Baloch stated that the attack was not an act of war but a deliberate massacre of civilians, including infants and children, in clear violation of international law and basic human morality. He said Pakistan’s use of missiles and drones against unarmed Baloch refugee families exposed the true nature of its state policy, which he described as being rooted in collective punishment and terror.
He noted that two years have passed since the incident, but justice remains denied, adding that the pain of Sham-e-Sar continues and the silence of the international community has emboldened the perpetrators.
In his message, Dr. Naseem Baloch said the Martyrs of Sham-e-Sar are remembered not only with grief but with renewed resolve. He added that their sacrifice stands as a permanent indictment of Pakistani state violence and a powerful reminder that the Baloch struggle for dignity, safety, and freedom will not be erased by bombs or drones.
“The martyrs live on in our collective memory,” the statement concluded. “Their blood strengthens our resistance.”
