QUETTA: Abdul Rahman Marri, son of Mohammad Bakhsh, has been forcibly disappeared since January 13, 2015, according to his family.
Family members said Abdul Rahman Marri was taken from Hazar Ganji Marri Camp, Quetta, at around 9:00 AM on January 13, 2015. He was initially held at Sariab police station for a day before being released on personal bail. The following day, he was called back to the police station for questioning and held for two more days. After this period, he was taken from the station and has not been seen since.
“The authorities have provided no information regarding his whereabouts, well-being, or custody,” the family said. “He was forcibly disappeared, and we have been living in anguish and uncertainty for the past 11 years.”
The family emphasized that if Abdul Rahman Marri was suspected of any wrongdoing, he should have been presented before a court according to constitutional and legal procedures rather than being forcibly disappeared. They described the ordeal as a severe violation of human rights and constitutional law, causing ongoing psychological and emotional trauma.
Through media channels, the family urged the government and state institutions to take immediate action. “Abdul Rahman Marri must be brought back to the public. If there are allegations against him, a transparent judicial process should determine his guilt or innocence. This is not only a matter for one family but a serious human and constitutional issue. We demand justice Abdul Rahman Marri must be recovered immediately,” they stated.
