QUETTA: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has demanded the immediate recovery of Hani Dilwash, a pregnant woman who has been forcibly disappeared for several weeks, as her family continues to protest for the recovery of missing relatives.
In a statement released on social media, the forum described Hani Dilwash as an innocent and pregnant woman who has remained missing after unlawful detention. The BWF said that despite the peaceful struggle of the family and repeated assurances by the district administration, no progress has been made toward her recovery. The forum strongly condemned the incident and called for Hani Dilwash to be produced immediately, stating that standing in solidarity with affected families is a collective responsibility.
It is noteworthy that, four members of the same family two women and two men were forcibly disappeared by personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces from Hub Chowki near Daro Hotel area. Following their disappearance, the family staged a protest by blocking the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) highway in the Tajaban area of Kech district.
The protest continued for several days and was temporarily called off after assurances from the Kech district administration regarding the recovery of the disappeared individuals. However, after no progress was reported even three days later, the family once again blocked the CPEC highway. The renewed protest has now entered its second day, with women and children continuing their sit-in despite severe cold.
Protesters say that while many parts of the country are engaged in routine activities, families in Balochistan are being forced to remain on the roads for days in harsh weather conditions to demand the recovery of their loved ones.
