Quetta: The Grand Alliance of Balochistan Government Employees has announced a pen-down strike starting today in protest against what it termed government indifference and incompetence.
According to the Balochistan Grand Alliance, government employees across the province have entered the second phase of their protest due to the authorities’ failure to address their long-standing demands.
Member organizations of the Grand Alliance are observing a pen-down strike on Monday, while a complete lockdown will be imposed in all government institutions across the province on December 30 and 31.
Leaders of the Grand Alliance stated that emergency services in the Health Department will remain operational as usual during the protest. They clarified that employees’ organizations included in the alliance are holding demonstrations for the approval of their demands, including the Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) and other related issues.
