KHARAN, BALOCHSITAN: Armed Men Blockade Kharan-Yakmuch CPEC Link Road, Seize Passenger Bus
According to a Zrumbesh source, armed men set up a blockade on the Kharan-Yakmuch CPEC link road in the Gwash area of Kharan. During the blockade, the armed men searched the vehicles and passengers; no arrests or casualties have been reported so far.
Sources said the armed men also seized a local passenger coach belonging to the Nautan Company during the incident.
No organisation has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
The area has previously seen a pattern of attacks claimed by Baloch separatist groups, who have repeatedly targeted Pakistani security forces as well as trade trucks, at times setting the vehicles on fire. Following a series of such attacks, trade convoys began travelling under security escort. However, even after this measure, Baloch armed groups have continued to target both security forces and heavy vehicles transporting natural resources extracted from Balochistan to other areas.
