KHARAN, BALOCHISTAN: Baloch Freedom Fighters set up an hours-long blockade on the CPEC highway in the Shahogiri area, between Kharan and Washuk, before a separate attack was reported on an FC checkpoint in Latar.
According to local source, the blockade, reportedly carried out by a “freedom-seeking” armed organization, lasted from around 4 PM to 8 PM, during which militants checked all traffic, including both large and small vehicles, at Shahogiri Killi an area located roughly 4 kilometers from a Pakistani Army camp.
Later, loud explosions were reported in the Latar area of Kharan, with details initially unclear. Sources subsequently confirmed that an FC checkpoint in Latar had come under attack by armed men.
No organization has so far claimed responsibility for either the blockade or the attack.
It is worth noting that attacks and armed activity targeting Pakistani forces in Kharan and surrounding areas have intensified in recent days. This includes attacks on military checkpoints in Zareen Jungle the previous night and in Gharok the same morning.
