GWADAR, BALOCHISTAN: Five bodies were recovered from the Panwan area of Jiwani, Gwadar, over the past day, reportedly bearing marks of torture.

According to the source, the fifth body has been identified as Chakar Gulab, son of Bal Nigor, a resident of Kech, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces two years ago.

The recoveries come after Pakistani military claimed on Friday to have killed several armed men during an operation in Panwan, following a suicide attack by the Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp.

However, sources say the five bodies recovered were of individuals who had already been in custody. Pakistani forces have previously faced allegations of killing detained individuals in staged encounters and presenting them as combat casualties.
