QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has strongly condemned the extrajudicial killings of two forcibly disappeared men, Haider Ali and Abdul Haq Baloch, whose bodies were recovered this week in Gwadar.

According to VBMP’s statement, Haider Ali’s body was recovered from Jiwani. His family had held a protest sit-in outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Gwadar on August 25, 2025, demanding his safe recovery after he was forcibly disappeared. VBMP said it was with deep regret that his lifeless body was eventually found instead.

In a separate statement, VBMP expressed grave concern over the killing of Abdul Haq Baloch, principal of Memar-e-Nau Academy in Gwadar and younger brother of forcibly disappeared BNM leader Ramzan Baloch. According to family members cited by VBMP, Abdul Haq was taken into custody by security forces from Gwadar in February this year, after which he remained missing. His body was later recovered – along with those of several others from the Panwan area of Jiwani, in Gwadar. His family alleges the body bore visible signs of torture.

VBMP’s statement also noted that Abdul Haq’s elder brother, Ramzan Baloch, was forcibly disappeared on July 25, 2009, after being abducted from Zero Point in Uthal while traveling from Mashkay to Gwadar, and that his family has awaited his recovery ever since.

In both statements, VBMP said that killing forcibly disappeared individuals in custody is unconstitutional, unlawful, and extrajudicial, constituting a serious human rights violation. The organization said any individual facing accusations should be presented before a court in accordance with the constitution and law, ensuring their right to a fair trial and legal defence, and stressed that no state institution has the authority to carry out extrajudicial killings.

VBMP called on the Government of Pakistan, judicial and legal authorities, and human rights institutions to take immediate notice of both killings, conduct transparent and impartial investigations, disclose the facts to the public, and hold those responsible accountable under the law.

The organization also renewed its call for the recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons, including Ramzan Baloch, and for an end to enforced disappearances, stating that such practices along with custodial killings, inflict irreparable harm on affected families and severely erode public trust in the rule of law and justice.
