Karachi: Changiz Baloch Recovered After Five Months of Enforced Disappearance

Karachi: Changiz Baloch, a member of the central office of the publishing house Ilm o Adab, located in Karachi’s well-known Urdu Bazaar, has been recovered after 165 days of enforced disappearance. His recovery has been met with relief and happiness by his family, friends and members of literary circles.

According to details, Changiz Baloch was forcibly disappeared on July 21 last year while he was selling books at his shop in Urdu Bazaar. Eyewitnesses said that Pakistani forces detained him and transferred him to an undisclosed location, after which his whereabouts remained unknown.

During the prolonged period of his disappearance, Changiz Baloch’s family endured severe mental distress and uncertainty. Literary and social circles consistently raised their voices for his recovery, describing his return after 165 days as a significant development for those struggling against enforced disappearances.
