London: “Pakistan Denied Us Justice, So I Migrated to the UK,” Says Zakir Majeed’s Mother at BNM Protest

London: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) staged a protest in front of the British Prime Minister’s residence in London to mark 16 years since the enforced disappearance of BSO-Azad senior leader Zakir Majeed Baloch.

Protesters carried banners and placards bearing slogans such as “Release Zakir Majeed,” “Stop Enforced Disappearances,” and “Justice for the Disappeared.” They called on the international community, including the United Nations and the British government, to take notice of serious human rights violations in Balochistan and to pressure Pakistan for the safe recovery of forcibly disappeared Baloch individuals.

Speaking at the demonstration, Zakir Majeed’s mother, Raaj Bibi, said she was forced to migrate to the UK after being denied justice in Pakistan. “I came here so I could be a voice for Zakir Majeed and all those who have been forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani state, where justice is impossible to attain,” she stated.

Addressing the protest, BNM leaders said their demonstration aimed to inform the world about the atrocities faced by the Baloch people. They condemned the Pakistani state for targeting Baloch individuals solely for their identity, regardless of their political or ideological affiliations.

BNM leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue their struggle against the inhumane practice of enforced disappearances. They emphasized that the Baloch nation stands united in resisting these violations and will not relent until justice is served and all disappeared individuals are recovered.

Other speakers included BNM’s Junior Joint Secretary Hassan Dost Baloch, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Faheem Baloch, Foreign Affairs Coordinator Niaz Baloch, and BNM UK Chapter President Master Manzoor Baloch. They not only highlighted the ongoing state-led atrocities in Balochistan but also urged British and international institutions to intervene urgently. Leaflets detailing the issue of enforced disappearances and the situation in Balochistan were also distributed at the event.
