Quetta: On the 11th death anniversary of renowned Baloch leader Baba Khair Bakhsh Marri, the Baloch Women Forum (BWF) paid rich tribute to his legacy, describing his life as a guiding model for the national salvation of the Baloch people.
In an official statement, the BWF hailed Baba Marri as a visionary who dedicated his entire life to the Baloch cause, advocating for national consciousness, unity, and ideological clarity. “All his thoughts, until the end of his life, were directed toward a national future free from oppression and exploitation,” the statement read.
The BWF emphasized that Baba Marri’s efforts in awakening the political and ideological awareness of the Baloch were unparalleled, noting that his teachings continue to inspire generations in the struggle for national dignity and unity.
“His lifelong emphasis on uniting the Baloch nation, including his ideological engagement with martyred leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, reflects his unwavering commitment to collective national interests,” the spokesperson said.
The statement further noted that Baba Marri played a key role in reshaping the direction of the modern Baloch nationalist movement. He strongly rejected the superficial use of terms like ‘development’ for oppressed nations, considering them tools of further exploitation under colonial structures.
“Even his silence spoke volumes,” the BWF added. “His ideological clarity countered anti-Baloch narratives and strengthened the resolve for national resistance.”
Concluding the statement, the BWF reiterated its belief in Baba Marri’s vision for a united and free Baloch homeland. “We call upon all stakeholders in the Baloch political movement to embrace unity against common oppression. Baba Marri’s life is not only a chapter of our past, it is a roadmap for the Baloch nation’s future.”
