Turbat May 18, 2025: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has paid tribute to two of its senior fighters, Captain Amjad Basham alias Shams Sahar and Lieutenant Sabarullah Baloch alias Wahag Jan, who were martyred during an armed clash with Pakistani forces in Turbat.
In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch stated that on the morning of May 17, 2025, at approximately 7:00 AM, the two BLF operatives carried out an urban mission targeting the Pakistani military headquarters “Asghar Gate” in Turbat city using a grenade launcher. The attack struck the intended target, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to two others.
Following the successful operation, both fighters attempted to withdraw from the area but were tracked by surveillance drones deployed by state forces. As enemy forces blocked their escape route, a confrontation ensued. During the ten-minute exchange of fire, two more Pakistani soldiers were killed and another injured. Captain Amjad Basham and Lieutenant Sabarullah embraced martyrdom in the encounter.
The spokesperson confirmed that both martyrs held official ranks within the organization—Captain and Lieutenant, respectively. “The BLF salutes its fallen comrades and reaffirms its commitment to fulfilling the mission of national liberation and building a free Balochistan,” the statement read.
Major Gwahram described Captain Amjad Basham as a talented and politically mature youth with strong leadership skills and a deep sense of national service. Despite possessing the academic credentials and professional qualifications to lead a comfortable life, Amjad chose the difficult path of resistance for the freedom and dignity of his homeland.
Amjad Basham was a popular figure in student and grassroots politics in Turbat. He joined the armed struggle in 2017 and participated in multiple operations against enemy forces. On January 27, 2017, Pakistani security forces forcibly disappeared him and his brother Barkat Basham. During the 18 months of disappearance, Amjad was subjected to brutal physical and psychological torture. Despite the trauma, he remained resilient. Upon his release on July 29, 2018, his body bore the scars of torture, but his spirit was unbroken. He immediately rejoined the liberation movement.
After his release, Amjad resumed organizing resistance activities in the city. In May 2022, he narrowly escaped a military encirclement by displaying tactical bravery and skill. At the time of his martyrdom, Amjad was in the final semester of his BS in Computer Science at Turbat University and also taught English and computer skills at a private academy.
Lieutenant Sabarullah Baloch was described as a quiet yet determined and steadfast comrade. He joined the BLF in 2021 at a young age and quickly became active in both organizational and public networks. His dedication, discipline, and understanding of the organization earned him critical responsibilities in a short time.
By 2023, he had come under state surveillance and faced increasing threats. Instead of retreating, Sabarullah chose the path of armed resistance and took on front-line combat duties. He was part of several secret and complex missions, effectively evading the enemy while remaining operational across various regions.
“He was tireless and unwavering, never seeking personal recognition or fame. His commitment was rooted in a sincere belief in the cause of freedom and ideological truth. He continued to fight with resolve until his final breath,” the spokesperson said.
In closing, the BLF stated that the organization has lost two brave and dedicated fighters, but their sacrifice remains a guiding light for future generations in the struggle for Baloch national liberation.
