Quetta (Monitoring Desk): The protesters have demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebagr Baloch and all arrested activists. They warned that if their demands are not met, they will enforce an indefinite shutdown across Balochistan, holding the state and the government responsible for the consequences.
“This press conference serves to announce that our sit-in will continue at the same location in Sariab, and we will not call off our protest until our demands are met,” they stated.
They further emphasized, “We now make it clear to the government: release Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebagr Baloch, and all arrested activists immediately, or we will seal off the entire Balochistan indefinitely. The full responsibility for this will rest on the state and the government.”
The protesters outlined the following four key demands:
- Immediate and unconditional release of Dr. Mehrang Baloch, Bebagr Baloch, and all arrested activists.
- Filing of an FIR against Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and IG Police for the indiscriminate firing that injured dozens and resulted in the deaths of three protesters. Both officials must be dismissed immediately.
- Immediate removal of the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Quetta.
- An end to retaliatory actions against Baloch political activists and the withdrawal of all fabricated cases against them.
The protesters reiterated that their movement is peaceful and driven by their fundamental right to demand justice.
