
Balochistan (Correspondents) The wave of enforced disappearances in Balochistan continues as Pakistani forces have forcibly disappeared four individuals from different areas.
In Harnai, security forces forcibly disappeared Jumma Khan Marri, son of Khan Gul Marri, a resident of Gharibabad, on February 13 after arresting him from the Harnai Bazaar. According to his family, he had previously been forcibly disappeared by the forces in 2013 and 2017. The family also stated that they attempted to file a First Information Report (FIR) three times at the local police station, but the police refused to register the case.
Meanwhile, in Gwadar, Basit, son of Ibrahim, a resident of Dasht, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on Saturday this week. Reports suggest that he had traveled to Gwadar for labor work when he was taken and forcibly disappeared.
Similarly, in Turbat, a young man, Zabad, son of Rasheed, a resident of Dandar, Kolwah, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces last night from a shop in Shahabad, Askani Bazaar.
Additionally, in Quetta, Nasir Jan Qambrani, the brother of renowned Balochi singer Nosheen Qambrani, has also become a victim of enforced disappearance. According to reports the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and intelligence agencies took him into custody at around 2:30 AM from his home in Killi Qambrani and moved him to an unknown location.
Nosheen Qambrani has appealed to human rights organizations and concerned authorities to raise their voices against the illegal enforced disappearance of her brother. She said that the act as inhumane and unjust, demanding an immediate end to enforced disappearances. She also stated that her family is in extreme distress, as they have not been provided with any information regarding Nasir Jan’s condition or whereabouts.
The ongoing wave of enforced disappearances in Balochistan is a serious violation of human rights, requiring urgent attention from the international community and human rights organizations.
