Mama Qadeer Baloch has accused Pakistan of treating Balochistan as an occupied land, employing brutal tactics reminiscent of an occupying force. Enforced disappearances, the dumping of mutilated bodies, targeted assassinations of political activists and students, and military raids on civilian populations have become the norm in Balochistan under Pakistan’s rule.
Speaking at the protest camp of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Mama Qadeer reiterated that these atrocities are part of a systematic campaign to suppress the Baloch people’s struggle for their rights. The VBMP camp, which demands justice for victims of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, has now entered its 5,750th day.
On Wednesday, BSO Pajjar’s Vice Chairman Dr. Tariq Baloch, MJ Baloch, and National Party Balochistan’s General Secretary Changez Baloch visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of enforced disappeared persons.
Mama Qadeer Baloch revealed that since 2000, thousands of Baloch have been forcibly disappeared, with at least 20,000 individuals falling victim to custodial killings. Despite ongoing protests, demonstrations, rallies, court petitions, and hunger strikes, the world remains largely indifferent to their suffering.
He emphasized that those fighting for the recovery of the forcibly disappeared are unwavering in their resolve. “We have endured immense hardships, threats, and suffering at the hands of Pakistani institutions, yet our struggle remains peaceful. It is disheartening that the world continues to turn a blind eye, simply because we belong to an enslaved nation,” he stated.
